The value of taking Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) seriously in the workplace isn’t to be underestimated. As many as 84% of Australians now say that when looking for a new job, it’s important that the organisation they apply to supports D&I. Promoting D&I and taking meaningful steps to support employees regardless of their differences is, therefore, essential for improving the working experiences of diverse employees and attracting and retaining talented employees for future growth and success.
In collaboration with YouGov, Indeed has carried out a comprehensive study into D&I issues within Australian workplaces. The research, involving over 2,000 working age Australians, reveals unparalleled insights into the attitudes and experiences of Australians at work, as well as employers’ efforts to improve D&I. The findings, which are presented in our latest report, Empowered by [our] differences: Embracing diversity & inclusion in Australian workplaces, show that while the experiences and treatment of minority groups at work often differ from the average Australian employee, there is growing awareness of D&I and its critical role in the future world of work.
